Rancho Mesa Recognized as Best Practices Agency for 13 Consecutive Years

Rancho Mesa Insurance Services, Inc., a leading Southern California commercial insurance brokerage, has been recognized by the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (Big “I”) as a Best Practices Agency for the thirteenth consecutive year.

The 2019 Best Practices Study conducted by the Big “I” and Reagan Consulting subjectively scored and ranked agencies on 33 performance factors. Out of 1,349 nominated agencies, only 267 qualified for the coveted Best Practices designation as industry leaders.

“Since 1993, the Best Practices Study has examined top performing agencies across the country,” according to the study’s website. “The purpose of the research is to compile the operating statistics of the country's leading agents and brokers. This provides the industry benchmarks and operational information on growth, profitability, productivity and financial stability.” A list of the 2018 Best Practices agencies is available here. Rancho Mesa Enjoys Annual Family Summer Night

Rancho Mesa threw their annual Family Summer Night on Saturday, July 27, 2019. This year it was held at Stone Brewing World Bistro & Garden - Liberty Station. Family and friends gathered to enjoy delicious food, crafted drinks, fun games, and good company. The night was concluded watching The Lion King, under the stars, at the outdoor cinema space.

Rancho Mesa Celebrates Launch of New Agency Management System

With champagne and cheers, Rancho Mesa Insurance Services, Inc., a twelve-time Best Practices Agency, celebrates a successful migration from Applied Systems’ TAM agency management system to Applied Systems’ Epic®. To ensure the company continues to stay ahead of the pack with the latest technology, sixteen months ago, the decision was made to upgrade the agency’s internal system.

The migration process was a labor of love for members of the implementation team, Kim Vasquez and Lori Stone. Without them, this process would not have gone so smoothly.

The implementation team worked for over a year and a half to ensure the transition went off without a hitch. Their diligence and attention to detail was not only to ensure staff were well-trained and prepared for the new system, but also to ensure that Rancho Mesa clients saw no disruption in service.

“I’m so proud of everyone’s dedication, hard work and the overall effort it required to insure that this is yet another OneofOne moment for Rancho Mesa – Cheers!,” said Dave Garcia, President and CEO at Rancho Mesa Insurance Services, Inc.

After months of intense preparation and weeks of online and in-person training, Rancho Mesa’s staff is well prepared and eager to dive into using the new agency management system.

Boys & Girls Clubs of East County Raises $70K at 46th Annual Golf Day

On Friday, July 12, 2019 the Boys & Girls Clubs of East County held their 46th annual Golf Day at Singing Hills Golf Resort, Oak Glen Course, in El Cajon, CA.

144 participants showed up to raise nearly $70K which directly supports the after school and summer programs provided by the Boys & Girls Clubs of East County for almost 60 years.

Several companies sponsored the event including Stan Boney & Family, Hunter's Run Apartments, Walmart, Christian Brothers Emergency Building Services, Republic Services, Waste Management, and Rancho Mesa.

Rancho Mesa was honored to take part in the event as both a sponsor and participant.

Rancho Mesa Co-Hosts OSHA 10 Course with Sentry Insurance

On May 23 & 24, 2019 Rancho Mesa Insurance Services co-hosted the OSHA 10 Course for the Construction Industry at the San Diego Christian College in Santee, CA. The two-day training was provided by Sentry Insurance.

Ken Grote, a Senior Safety Services Consultant for Sentry, taught the course covering a variety of topics such as the differences between Cal/OSHA and federal OSHA, hazard communication, fall prevention, proper scaffold usage, working safely with electricity, hearing protection, reducing falls, trenching and excavation safety, personal protective equipment (PPE), and much more.

Rancho Mesa Throws Fiesta Friday

Rancho Mesa Insurance Services, Inc. hosted its annual Fiesta Friday on May 17, 2019 in Santee, CA. Partners and staff of Rancho Mesa enjoyed great company, tequila tasting, and delicious street tacos & churros made fresh on site.

The tequila tasting included score cards to judge the tequila based on appearance, aroma, flavor, and smoothness. This year’s, Nicho Real Extra Añejo 5 Years Tequila took the fan favorite, bumping last years winner, Avion Reserva 44 Extra Anejo Tequila, off the throne.

The pop-up photobooth was a favorite new addition to Fiesta Friday, as attendees had fun posing with props and friends!

Rancho Mesa Attends Padres Game with IIAB San Diego

Members of Rancho Mesa Insurance Services spent the afternoon with the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of San Diego (IIAB San Diego) at the organization’s Padre Game Event on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at San Diego’s Petco Park.

Account Executive Jeremy Hoolihan, Account Manager Christina Haake, Vice President Sam Brown, Account Manager Yvonne Gallagher, and Vice President Sam Clayton represented Rancho Mesa at the event.

The San Diego Padres did not disappoint their fans with a 5-2 victory over the Arizona D-backs. Rancho Mesa cheered for hometown favorite Greg Garcia. Read more about the game highlights on MLB.com.

Rancho Mesa Co-Hosts OSHA 10 Course for Landscape Industry

On May 14 & 15, 2019 Rancho Mesa Insurance Services’ co-hosted the OSHA 10 Course for the Landscape Industry at the San Diego Christian College in Santee, CA.

The OSHA 10 Course for the Landscape Industry is a two-day training provided by Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies (BHHC) in partnership with the National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP) and Rancho Mesa Insurance Services, Inc. 

Multiple companies were in attendance at the workshop, including Atlas Tree Service, Four Seasons Tree Care, Inc., Heaviland Landscape Management, Rancho West Landscape, Inc., Pacific Green Landscape, Inc., True Lawn Care, Inc., and Urban Habitat.

Art Marquez of BHHC started off the training with an introduction of the history of OSHA. Steve Hamilton taught the rest of the course covering a variety of topics such as the fatal four hazards (i.e., fall protection, caught in or between, electrical exposures, and struck-by hazards), material handling storage/use, and stairways/ladders. Steve and Art are in the Loss Control department at BHHC, which assists the insureds with safety related trainings and site inspections to ensure that they are not doing anything that would create a hazard or potential claim.
