Employee Spotlight: Colin Cadman Joins Rancho Mesa's Employee Benefits Department

Rancho Mesa Insurance Services is pleased to announce that Colin Cadman has joined the Employee Benefits department as a Benefit Analyst. In this role, Colin will support the team in a variety of administrative and strategic ways, bringing his energy and expertise to this rapidly growing division within Rancho Mesa.

Colin was born and raised here in San Diego before attending UC Santa Cruz and graduating with a degree in Psychology. He currently resides in Bay Park with his fiancée and two dogs. He is an entrepreneur at heart, and his hobbies include rock climbing, game nights, beach volleyball, and hiking.

Shane Medlin, Employee Benefits Account Executive

Rancho Mesa Insurance Services is pleased to announce Shane Medlin has joined our team as an Account Executive in the Employee Benefits department.

Shane brings more than a decade of experience to our health benefits department. He possesses strong strategic planning, tactical contract negotiation, and benefit plan design analysis. He collaborates with the service team to establish best in practice benefit programs that meet the cultural, financial and health benefit goals of clients.

Originally from New England, Shane currently resides in Oceanside, California with his wife Merissa and son Aiden. He enjoys outdoor activities such as golf and fishing. “The best part of my day is coming home to my family and spending quality time with my son sharing life lessons and experiences.”

Whitney's customer service experience makes her a perfect fit for Rancho Mesa's front desk and certificate department.

Whitney was born and raised in San Diego. She grew up playing tennis and moved to Northern California to attend Sonoma State University where she graduated in 2017. She traveled for a month in Europe after graduating and besides traveling, loves spending time with friends and family and being near the beach, as much as possible.

With a background in employee benefits, Erin brings the knowledge needed to assist Debbie Milburn with the day to day paperwork involved with administering employee benefits. 

Erin was born and raised in San Diego. She graduated from San Diego State University in 2015. And, she currently lives in La Mesa with her husband Kyle, son Jaxon, and their dog Stella. She enjoys camping, traveling, and anything that takes her outdoors.  Her favorite destinations to visit are Big Bear,  Cabo San Lucas, and San Francisco.

Rancho Mesa Hosts Employee Benefits Online Platform Workshop

Rancho Mesa clients gathered at the Employee Benefits: Using the EaseCentral Platform Workshop on Thursday, August 24, 2017 held at the San Diego Christian College campus in Santee.  EaseCental's, Dana Thompson, gave an instructional demonstration of Rancho Mesa’s online employee benefits enrollment portal, EaseCentral.

The EaseCentral platform makes it simple to set up and manage benefits, onboard new hires, stay compliant and offer employees one destination for all their human resources information.

The workshop was streamed live online and is available to clients within the Risk Management Center.

Rancho Mesa Says Goodbye to Debbie Milburn and Welcomes Suzi Ffrench

It’s been nearly a year since I joined the team here at Rancho Mesa, and what a year it’s been.  While we’ve worked to improve the expertise and service provided to you on your employee benefits, as well as the cost of and your actual benefits themselves, there was a Presidential election that has the potential of changing the entire landscape of healthcare and health insurance in this Country (although it’s important keep in mind that we’re in California, which politically can be a country of its own).  While much is still to be determined- just today the GOP announced that they don’t yet have enough votes to pass the American Health Care Act in its current form- you have my commitment to continue to advise and direct you on your benefits to the best of my abilities, and to your satisfaction, if not downright gratification, and to that of every single one of your employees.

Toward that end, one of the commitments we made this year was to hire a full-time Senior Account Manager to help you with your day-to-day needs, which when it comes to health insurance, as you know, there can be a lot of.  Because of that, you’ve likely gotten to know Debbie Milburn as the wonderful person and service-provider she is, both of which I’m personally grateful for, so I’m sad to announce that due to a great opportunity for her and her family, she is relocating to Austin, Texas, at the end of this month.

While we’ve known for a while that Debbie is leaving, I wanted to wait until we secured a great replacement for her before announcing her departure, and that we’ve done by adding Suzi Ffrench (yes, that’s Ffrench with two F’s) to our team.  Like me, Suzi has joined us from one of the largest consulting firms in the country, Willis Towers Watson; so, she brings a great wealth of knowledge and experience helping both employers and employees with their benefits questions and needs.  Like Debbie, she is a great fit for Rancho Mesa; so, she’s going to be a great fit for you as part of your benefits team.

Please feel free to reach out to Debbie to thank her for the great service and commitment she’s provided over the past 7 months (her last day is Friday, March 31st), and to introduce yourself to Suzi, from whom you’ll be hearing, as she picks up where Debbie is leaving off.
