John Peek, Peek Brothers Painting
“I have been with “Team” Rancho Mesa for close to 20 years.
As you can imagine, as a small business over that period of time, I have experienced ups and downs. I met Daniel Frazee back when I was with another broker. Dan was so conscientious and consistent with a helpful, “How can I serve” attitude in my painting industry association that, when the time came to switch brokers, it was a no brainer.
Through thick and thin and the ups and downs of navigating the choppy waters of workers comp and general liability, Rancho has been so helpful to me. Some brokers treat you like a hot potato when the going gets a little rough; but that has never been the case with Rancho Mesa. They are an integral part of my team.
Over the past few years, Daniel has handed me to Casey Craig. The transition has been seamless and Casey has been as attentive and as attentive as Daniel has always been.
The whole team is just “on it” Vickie on certs; Alyssa on making sure we are educated; Jim on helping me navigate workers comp and Kelsey on managing our account… all the folks are a real joy to work with.”
Don Martin, Mr.D's Construction Services
"We have been doing business with Rancho Mesa Insurance for the past 13 years. Daniel Frazee has been a pleasure to work with over the years. He and his knowledgeable staff have been very helpful to us and our business as we face the ever changing challenges of being a business owner in the state of California. The Fact that we have had a business relationship for this long is a testimony to their Honesty and Integrity. Their Commitment to customer service and the personal attention that we are given goes above and beyond what we could have ever expected. We Look forward to continuing the wonderful relationship that we have developed over the years."
Ernie Pearn, Cutting Edge Drywall
"Cutting Edge Drywall has been with Rancho Mesa Insurance since at least 2004. Prior to that, we dealt with several other Insurance companies and were just a customer. I have the utmost confidence in their ability to get us the best value. While price is important, Dan understands that value is a combination of price, service, and the quality and reputation of the insurance company. Dan has also helped us to better our safety by introducing us to a safety consultant and personal trainer which lowers our claims rate and makes us more marketable to the insurance companies. This level of service is top notch and what makes Rancho Mesa Insurance second to none!"
Michael M. Chism, President, Chism Brothers Painting
"One thing I have appreciated about Daniel is that does not take our business for granted! He has faithfully, every year taken the time to sit down with me to review, explain and update (up or down) our coverages. Perhaps the highlight of my relationship with Daniel was the time he arranged for me to have lunch with him and his father. What an honor!"
Jim Pierce, Apex Pacific, Inc.
"We can distill all of our dealings with Rancho Mesa Insurance Services into the following statement: they follow a faithful commitment to honesty, integrity and personable business relationships. All very real and very exceptional."

A new California law, Assembly Bill 1805 (AB 1805), changes when employers are required to report serious workplace injuries to the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA). The law now broadens the scope of what will be classified as a serious illness, injury or exposure. Many believe this change will increase the number of workplace accidents that will have to be reported in 2020.

In a Census summarizing fatal occupational injuries from 2016, those originating from falls continued a steady upward trend that began in 2011 and increased another 6% in 2016. More specifically, falls increased more than 25% for roofers, painters, carpenters, tree trimmers & pruners. Since 2013, fall protection citations have been #1 or #2 on OSHA’s most cited violations. Now, more than ever, it is essential for employers with personnel who work at heights to provide comprehensive fall protection.
