Workers' Compensation Claims Advocate
Jim began his workers’ compensation career as an injured worker in the late 1980s. He was unable to return to his construction career after his work injury and, through vocational rehabilitation, was hired by a workers’ compensation insurance company and trained to be a workers compensation claims adjuster.
Jim then became certified with the California Office of Self-Insurance Plans through the Department of Industrial Relations and became the workers’ compensation claims administrator for the San Diego Transit. Jim subsequently started Workers Compensation Consulting, providing services and guidance to employers, physicians, attorneys and injured workers.

About
Jim has a love of all sports, in particular football. His grandfather, Albert, was a crewmember for the construction of Spartan Stadium in Portsmouth, Ohio. This was the home of one of the oldest professional football teams, the Portsmouth Spartans, now known as the Detroit Lions. Jim was All-State in high school football for the Portsmouth Trojans, who also called Spartan Stadium their home. Jim continued playing football in college for the Wilmington (Ohio) Quakers.
After attending college, Jim moved to San Diego and soon married his wife of 31 years, Francis. Jim coached many youth, middle school, high school and travel sports teams for their 5 children. Jim and Francis recently became grandparents of identical twin granddaughters.
His other interests include family game nights, barbeques / parties, golfing, and fishing.
